Why Visit the Galapagos Islands?

Posted on March 15, 2014 at 3:35 pm

The more time you spend in the Galapagos the more you’ll absolutely love it, especially if you’re a wildlife fanatic. It’s relatively easy to find a trip to the Galapagos that can offer you close-up encounters with turtles and tortoise.

You can head over to the Galapagos Islands from Ecuador, and there will be plenty of activities to take part in. Snorkelling, trekking, and discovering the volcanic landscapes can help to give you a taste of what a Galapagos holiday is all about.

The Galapagos Islands will urge you to get your camera out and really absorb the scenery.  Remember this is the location that inspired Charles Darwin, and there are plenty of local conservations on the islands to get involved with if you want to explore the islands like never before.

Tropical Holidays

Posted on March 12, 2014 at 4:33 pm

When you think of a tropical holiday you’ll often think about a bright blue sky with a beaming sun, and plenty of dusty golden sand and warm blue water seas. It’s what many people will refer to as ‘paradise’ and there are plenty of options out there.

The Seychelles are ideal if you’re looking for absolutely stunning scenery, high quality accommodation in beach huts on stilts, and bright blue waters. You also get this scenery in the Maldives, and both locations benefit from very hot temperatures.

Thailand is slightly cooler, and you still get that tropical feel, but not many people consider it as a tropical location. Ko Lipe is situated in Southern island, and it is one of the most tranquil locations you can visit.

Fiji is like a completely different country and that’s because it is. Sunsets and sundowns in Fiji are superb, and temperatures will stay very high from May to October.

A Typical Day on Safari

Posted on March 1, 2014 at 7:57 am

Days begin early on safari because this is the best time to see wildlife. The animals rise early with the sun and the predators begin prowling for their breakfast. You’ll be woken up with a tray of hot tea or coffee (or whatever you like to drink in the mornings!) to begin the morning with, before getting dressed and jumping into you vehicle with your knowledgeable guide. Together you’ll watch the events of the bush unfold.

Breakfast is most likely done and dusted for the animals by the time you begin to feel hungry. Whenever you’re ready your guide will find the perfect spot to stop off for a tasty bush breakfast. Think more steaming hot drinks, breakfast sandwiches, cool juices, cereals, fresh fruits and yoghurts. You’ll refuel before heading back out to see what else you can find.

After your morning drive you can relax at your camp doing whatever you wish. Perhaps you’d like to take a quick dip in the pool? Relax in your room with a book? Learn more about Africa’s fauna and flora in the camp’s library? The choice is yours. Once you’re feeling rested you can begin your afternoon activity.  On a tailor made safari you’re able to choose exactly what you’d like to do. You could go out for an afternoon drive, take a guided bush walk, go canoeing, or many various other activities depending on where you are.

You’ll be met back at the camp by friendly staff who have a cool facecloth and a refreshing juice ready and waiting for you. As night falls you’ll surround the campfire with your fellow guests, sipping on your favourite drink and discussing what you’ve seen that day. Together you’ll enjoy a scrumptious three course dinner under the stars before retreating back to your tent for a good night’s sleep before your next day of safari adventures.

Alternatives to Safari’s in Africa

Posted on February 28, 2014 at 11:36 am

Typically speaking, tourists in Africa will aim to experience the natural beauty there by joining a safari excursion, and aiming to watch all of the big five; Elephants, Lions, Buffalo, Leopard, and Rhinoceros, but there are other options which can be just as engaging. There are options for people to join a trek, where you walk through environments which cars are unable to traverse, like forests and mountains. On these, you can see animals which you can’t through any other way, such as Gorillas, and Chimpanzees. Both of these are some of the most interesting animals around, and the experience of seeing large troops of them living in social groups in a natural setting is truly unique. These are opportunities which, while allowing you to experience incredible animals, also allows you to really see what wildlife is like in areas of Africa. This allows you to explore more in-depth, and there are a number of options for you to help with conservation efforts, and reduce the price of such a trip.

Safari Holidays in South Africa

Posted on February 25, 2014 at 11:34 am

Holidaying in South Africa can be a truly wonderful experience. It has a rich culture which you can engage in, with holidays which they celebrate in spectacular style, which you may want to be there for. Upcoming is the South African Workers Day, which is similar to USA’s labour day, and there is also Human rights day, which is celebrated on March 21st. Another big part of South African culture revolves around the wildlife and ecology of the country. Going on a Safari in South Africa presents westerners with a wonderful opportunity to experience animals in their natural habitat, animals which most people in Britain will never see in person, or if they do, it will be in a zoo. If you are a wildlife enthusiast, then South Africa is a great place to visit, with both a rich culture, one which is perhaps the closest to the west in terms of culture in all of Africa, and also with a great natural beauty and diverse wildlife. All of these combine to create perhaps the greatest travel experience available.
